When to drop night feed?
« on: June 11, 2014, 06:13:07 am »
My 4mo LO feeds once a night between 3-4am. The other night my husband got up, thinking it was 2am and settled him back to sleep instead of having me feed him. I was shocked to wake up at 6am and realize that baby hadn't eaten all night.
Besides some enormously engorged boobs and explosive milk, it felt great to sleep!
My LO is usually asleep by 8pm and wakes around 7am. (DF 10:30)
Is he ready perhaps to have his night feed dropped? Or was that just a lucky night?

There are many children who can and who can't do it. Mine is going from 7pm to 7am with DF without problem at 17wo (started when was 14-15wo when I introduced DF) so it's possible. So you may try for a couple of days to resettle without feed. You will see if this is possible. If your lo will be hungry you will not be able to resettle or he will wake again quite soon.

Have you gone through 4mo GS already?
