Where do I go from here?

Medi's been on the same easy for a while now and I'm starting to see signs it's not working so well. She's always been an early waker, 5:30 is pretty normal for her :( and we do get the occasional (once a week or so) looooong chatty NW.  I never get her up before 6 and I don't feed her till 7ish. She still has one nf around 3-4 am. We're getting more ew now, probably  5/7 days a week and the last 2 nights it's taken her 20 minutes to fall asleep at bedtime.

So this was today
Wu 5:40
S 9:55-10:25 (I woke her)
S 1:40-3 (took her 15 mins to fall asleep; I have to wake her at 3 to fetch Enfys from school)
Bt 7 but she took 20 mins to fall asleep

She is happy happy happy all day long and very busy. She's sooo close to one nap but I'm not sure she can manage the a time before her nap. She can do pretty long a in the afternoon though. I hate this stage!!!

Ick that's tricky, so hard to jump to one nap from an EW :(. She's always been pretty LSN hasn't she?

Can you cut the am nap to 15-20 mins?  Then maybe bring the pm nap a touch earlier and aim for a 13h day? 

The other option if you think she just needs the push is to jump to a set one nap, maybe at 11am or as close to it as you can get, keep her really busy all morning and then hope she crashes for a big nap?  Then maybe move BT to 6pm (temporarily) and see what happens?

Personally I would try the one nap at 11 ish as Katherine suggested...but I like to jump cold turkey into things like that ;). We still get an ew a lot between 5:00-6:00 am but on one nap she is super easy to resettle. Keep meaning to try w2s but she never wakes at a consistent time - for a few days it is 6:00, then 5/5:30 for a bit.

She's fairly lsn but not extremely so. She's always been a great napper and not great at night.
As it happens we had Enfys' school sports this afternoon so we had one nap, 11-1. she'd woken just before six. She was pretty grumpy about 9:30 but I managed to keep her going and she had a pretty good sleep. She was great in the afternoon. So, we'll see.

She had a great night - slept from just after six till 3, I fed her and she went back to sleep till 5:45.

But this morning I had to take the cat to the vet and Medi slept for a quarter of an hour in the car.  She is very grizzly today so I hope it was the right thing and she'll have a decent nap this afternoon.

I can see us flip flopping between one and two naps for a little while yet.

Great night! We did back and forth for a bit but then I just went for it - the odd time she does a 10-15 min catnap in the early morning in her carrier while I walk the dogs but that doesn't impact her nap too bad, I just push it back by 15-20 min.

Yeah I think that's what will happen here too.

She had a dreadful night last night but I'm not sure if she's ill. Loooong NW at 3 and then screaming at 5.  She did go back to sleep until 7:30 or so. Going to be a one nap day today I reckon.

Well, it turned out she had some kind of viral infection and was really poorly for about five days. She's feeling better but now having serious ew. 5:15 yesterday and 4:45 today :(. Today she had a dirty nappy which is so annoying.  I'm getting pretty fed up of these ew :(

Ugh...we've been getting ew (well early for us, wake up used to 7:30/8) at 6/6:30 and no way she will be ap'ed back to sleep. Not sure what else I can tweak here - how has the one nap thing been going?

She actually went back to sleep today. It was only for 45 minutes but it's good for her ;)

Since she's been ill we haven't done any more one nap days until today. Will let you know tomorrow how it went ;)

Sheesh what is it with these kids ;) lol guess I can't complain too much she did sleep a solid 10 hrs! But the other two sleep 11 or 12!

So, Medi had one nap (2.5 hr) yesterday, in bed at 6:45 and slept till 6.  I'd call that a success but then today I didn't know what to do.  So she had about 20 minutes in the morning and 1hr 15 this afternoon. But it took her 20 minutes to fall asleep tonight.
I'm happy for her to have one nap if she wakes at 6:30, but what if she wakes earlier?  That is my dilemma!

Hmm that is a tough one...can you do one nap amd a really early bt and slowly push it out to a more reasonable time?

She actually did go back to sleep yesterday. It took her an hour though. Then she had one nap.
So I guess I am just going to go for it now!  My problem is I'm too indecisive! I just want someone to tell me what to do lol. But I think, because she naps so well, one long nap is going to suit her better than two short ones. I hope so anyway ;)

Spencer was like that with one long nap - 3 hours and still slept at night! Was amazing. Fx Medi does well on one nap too!

We were up at 4:20 this morning for the day and I thought of you guys! Hopefully you were sleeping soundly!!

Day three today. She did ew this morning at 5:40, but I think she dozed on and off for another half an hour. She was pretty tired when I put her down at 11 and then she pooed and so there were a few tears before she got herself off. My aim is
Wu 6.30
Nap 11:30-1:30
Bt 6:30

So far it's been fine, she's good and tired going down and sleeping better at night (jinx!). The next couple of days will tell I think, if she gets ot or starts ew again.

following this because we are having a similar situation... however juniper is just 12 weeks old, so it is kind of a different bag.
EW at 5:30 for the past few days... i'm crossing my fingers that it's just related to her 3 month growth spurt and wonder week.
(she used wake at 5:30 to eat but then sleep back until 8 or so!... now she won't settle down.)

We had this around then too. I put it down to gas pains and just tried to burp her properly after all her nf.

We had three one nap days in a row but last night she went to bed at 6 so of course at 5:30 today she was wide awake and happy as Larry. So today she had 20 minutes in the morning and about 1hr 45 in the afternoon. Bt was 6:45. I don't really want to chop and change so am going to forge ahead with one nap if at all possible.

Sounds like a good plan! We have the odd 15 min morning snooze in the carrier or stroller still, but usually it is still early enough not to bother the nap and I just chop 15 min off of it. Last night she did better but was after a 7 hr A to bed with 2 parties, swimming and a bbq! Can't do that every day unfortunately :P

We seem to be managing 3 one nap days, then she has a ew, then a long two nap day or two, then back to one nap days. Tbh I much prefer the one nap days as the two nap days are so long. I think I'm just going to have to stick with the one nap days from now on. It won't be pretty when she has an ew but I think I just need to push on now. Going to have nap no earlier than 11:30 and bt no earlier than 6:30. Wish me luck. ;)

They've been two hours apart from yesterday with mil when she did about 1hr 20. But she's then doing about 11.5 hr nights as well so overall she is getting more sleep I think.

It's been a few weeks now since we went to one nap. It's been going fairly well on the whole. We still get long NW every few days and the odd ew but on average she's getting 12.5-13 hr sleep and she's happy enough. My next job is to drop her night feed but I'm dreading it.

I dreaded that bit too but it went easier than I thought it would! Glad one nap seems to be working - we are already seriously capping the nap!

Yup! E would nap for ages if we let her - then have motn crib parties! As much as I miss Y time I prefer some uninterrupted sleep!
