Can you give him something to eat in the car on the way home and then skip bath to get him to bed at 6 on NND? All the behaviour you are listing is chronic ot for my kids, and the only way I have managed to get past it has been early bed, sometimes before 5.30! It does build up, so even if you can manage this once or twice it might get him out of his ot rut. Also, do you wake him from his naps at the weekend? I have sometimes found that when they are super-ot then they need a catch-up nap when you don't wake them no matter how long they sleep (takes a lot of nerve!) and then put them to bed at the normal time - I never believed that it would work, but it has been a life-saver for us on a couple of occasions.

We can probably get a quick dinner into him and skip bath if need be (though he is outside at daycare a lot and typically lathered head to toe in sunscreen and has dirty feet lol), but not a huge deal to miss a night or 2.

I never cap his nap on weekends...ever!  I consider that his catch up him and let him sleep as long as his little heart desires.  I think that's why we also have less BT issues on weekend than during the week.

Tried 7:30pm tonight after a 1hr nap today, he's up there quietly chatting (it's 7:40pm now) but when I said it was time for 'night night' he willingly walked to bed, which is an improvement in and of itself.

I think he started to catch up this weekend - took a 2hr nap on Saturday and a 3hr nap yesterday and went down for BT at about 8:30pm with no issues and up at 6.  So, not bad.  Honestly, I think I just need to talk to his CM about making his nap a priority and to essentially stop treating him like a 3yr old who doesn't nap anymore.  Sigh.  I hate having these conversations, but it's been going on so long I think I need too.  On Friday she said she didn't put him down until 2:30pm and then woke him at 3:30pm because he was having 'too much fun playing outside'.  Do you know what's not fun?  Wrestling an over-tired 2yr to sleep! LOL

(((HUGS))) Lindsay!!  OT monsters are the worst, especially for our more spirited little guys!!  I hate having "those" conversations with my childminder but at the same time, when it is affecting your lives soooo much, I think it's necessary.  If they don't see the priority or don't change what they are doing, you may have to do a few nights a week of "dinner in the car", skip bath to help him get to bed early and get the sleep he needs.
