14 month old weaning
« on: July 02, 2014, 03:47:10 am »
I want to start weaning my 14 month old.  He has a mild milk and egg allergy so I'm looking for suggestions of what kind of milk and how much to introduce?  I'm also nervous about him not getting enough nutrition once I start dropping feeds, so maybe some suggestions of how to make up for the lost calories with other food.  Thank you

Thank you, I will read the posts.  If you don't mind, how did you wean?  Just interested in other moms approaches.

My kids were older (26mo) so it was a bit easier to explain what was happening I guess but I just slowly cut out one feed at a time. You can read about my wean with my DS2 here Re: Weaning thread part 3... Come share experiences and offer support as well as other mamas' experiences. Feel free to post on that thread for lots of support :)

Changing up the BT routine really helped us get rid of that last feed. Bringing it forward to before the bath and downstairs in the living room rather than in the bedroom. Distraction and offering alternatives also helped.
