11 week old losing out on a feed??
« on: July 13, 2014, 21:10:01 pm »
Hiya just after some advice really....

My daughter is 11 weeks old and we loosely follow the EASY routine (we try to demand feed within reason)

Our current routine seems to go like this

05:00am wake for feed (6oz)
Back to sleep till approx 9am with another feed (usually another 6oz)
Playtime for a couple of hours then a nap
Another feed approx 1:30-2pm (6oz)
Playtime then another nap
6pm feed (6oz)
Quiet playtime
8pm (ish). Bath (or change if doesn't need a bath) PJ's and another bottle (2-3oz) then she self settles really well and sleeps till the 5am feed.

My problem is she often goes longer than 4hours between feeds so therefore we're giving her the bottle before bed only a couple of hours after the last bottle so she's only taking a small bit and so not getting the right amount per day. Should we leave her longer till she's hungry in the day and end up going to bed after last feed about 7:30 then try a dream feed (prob is she is very uncomfy after feeds so putting her straight back down is an issue) or should we just keep things as they are - she's putting on weight and is pooing and weeing well xxx

I would leave things be if they're working!  Don't fix what isn't broken..... ;)
