4am wake up
« on: August 06, 2014, 03:49:16 am »
So we finally seem to have conquered the middle of the night feeds for my 7 month old but we have still got a 4am wake up!
He was waking up around 3 or 4am for a full feed but a few days ago he slept through so I guessed that he doesn't actually need the food. Since then he has woken up at 4.10am every night. I know it's habitual so I started with pupd which seemed successful but now he just stays awake and looks around.  Not crying but tossing and turning and occasionally crying. It's causing more disturbed nights for me that I was hoping to avoid! Please tell me he will get the message soon and stay asleep!  I'm exhausted!
Thanks x
Ps I can't leave him when he wakes up and cries coz he shares a room with my 2year old son.

Hi Hun, one sleep throught doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't need it. Just means he didn't need it that night. Many lo's continue to have one night feed for a while. MIne had a 4am feed until 9/10months. If he's taking a full feed then I would say he may still need it. If you did feed him a full feed would he then go right back to sleep? If he's hungry he may not be able to resettle?

Thanks but he's stopped taking a full feed when he wakes, I'm breastfeeding so hard to know but only feeds for a minute or two when a normal feed takes 10-15 mins.  Just wondering if it's more likely to be habitual waking as it's the same time every night! Thanks x

Oh ok I thought from your previous post he was taking a full feed. What's your current easy?
