9 week old - should I drop feeding?
« on: July 26, 2014, 06:37:41 am »
Our BF daughter eats at 7,10,1, 3:30pm, 5:30pm, 7:30, and dream at 10. She wakes at 3:30am to feed again. She is very sleepy in the afternoon and I have to wake her to feed her at the 3:30pm feed so today I tried letting her sleep until 4 and then feeding her at 7 pm. Her 7pm is her only bottle and she drank it. Then at 8:15pm she was hungry again so I gave her a bottle of pumped milk 2 ounces. We did the dream feed at 10:15. She woke hungry at 2am, does that mean she wasn't ready to drop that feeding during the day?

I would think maybe not (or perhaps a bit of a growth spurt goint on!). We had a cluster feed thing going on in the late aft/early evening for quite some time but then she never took to the df at all.

If you're waking her for it then as long as all the sleep in the day doesn't mean she is up all night I would probably just follow her lead.
