Sounds fine honey. It isn't any shorter than he often does anyway yk?

My DS falls asleep as soon as his head touches the pillow as well. Don't read too much into that, at this point I think it is just a 'wiring' thing.

I agree - my daughter has always taken a while to wind down and go to sleep and will sleep later in the morning,  but my son will fall asleep straight away, but EW if he's UT....

Yeah, he could be.  If I get 11hrs out of lily now I consider it a good night.  She more often does 10.5hrs lately. If she goes to sleep at 8, she'll typically be awake by 6.30.

Wu was 5.30 >:( :(

I just don't get how he can go to bed so late and wake early still. Hes not that lsn. He needs at least 11h ons. He was doing 6.30-6/6.30 before wu started to creep to 5.30/5 so how can he go to bed at 8 and wake at 5.30 ???

With my DS it took a while to shift his body clock, he lost sleep for several days before finally crashing out and waking later. I would stick with the later BT.
hugs for the 5.30 WU though, I am so glad to see the back of those!!!

Yup, DS still needs to get really really tired before he crashes - which is probably why the big jump worked so well!

Ok. This is where I come unstuck :( 5,30 wu and I want to put him to bed by 6 cos I can't bear the thought of coping with a cranky boy till BT!

Luckily my 9yo nephew is here whom he adores and can keep him company.

I told ds he needed to go back to sleep at 5.30 or he would lose his morning screen time. Is that ok to do? Its the only currency that would work for him. He was very upset since dd and dn got to watch TV without him. I went for my morning run on treadmill whilst he cried/ played in garden. TG its a nice morning!

(((hugs))) It's horrid when you know they're tired and you can't really help them, for their own good :(  I had to shift Jack's BT & wakeup by at least an hour when we were finished with the 2-1.  He still woke early for at least 2 days.  On the third he woke early, but then went back to sleep again and that did it.  He was younger though - I think it'd take lily more than 3 days to shift her WU time now cos she's older and can handle tiredness better than a 1yo!  Stick with it, I'm sure it'll work in the end.   And hugs for the crankiness in the meantime!

He wakes at 5.30am because his body clock has set to that at the moment. It will take a few days of crackiness to shift the bedtime - but the EBT will just reinforce the EW. If 8pm is the new bedtime I would bring back to 7.30pm, but no more than that.

No, he isn't that LSN, it is just his body clock  ;).

Hold firm, I know it's hard when you're dealing with this on your own but it's really worth it.

A low-key afternoon can help with the crankiness. Lots of stories, or a bit of TV will make the time go quicker. A long bath always helps us too!
