8.30 - 6.30 isn't too bad though is it?
I'm saying that but not living it ;)
Just remembering back to DS having 8pm BT and 10hr nights (with a nap), it didn't seem so bad really...I mean, yeah I prefer the 7-7 we have now but I know that won't last for ever.

Did he have any sneaky naps in the car or anything? or any EBTs which might have brought WU earlier?
Can you fit in more physical exercise for him to make him more tired?

This is a good question. Last year, they had rest time at preschool and DS rarely slept there, but even resting for 1.5 h or falling asleep for 10 mins was sufficient for rendering his nights 30-60 mins shorter than now, one year later, with no rest time. Physical activity has a huge impact here too.

Nope no naps or anything. Will have to get him to run around after school and see if that makes a diff!

He did 8.30-6.55 :) I guess he is just self regulating and I have to trust that. I can't help but worry wu is going to creep back to 5.30- he was doing that for so long

Yeah, maybe he's still getting back into routine, I mean his body clock was forced into moving so perhaps it needs some time now to 'lock on' to a regular WU again, either that or he is going to continue to fluctuate his WU time depending on that night's sleep need. I'd think more the former based on him having a strong body clock in the first place.
I know you're still working with the gro clock too which should help to get him into a rhythm.  Keep encouraging him to practise quiet time for several mins after WU.

I would not give in to any temptation to give him even a slightly earlier BT at this point, esp with the clock change coming end of the month.

I left his room at 7 and he was asleep for 7.30. I'm not even thinking about it backfiring. I guess its time to accept the child I have "early riser* and just deal with it! I may as well get my evenings back tho. He has gotten better at waiting for Mr sun- he waited till 7.15 this am so almost 1.5h. I'm going to reinforce that instead and just suck up the emw.

Thank you for hh for 17 crazy pages! I know I've done all I can to get this kid to sleep but its time to stop stressing out about it. I had time to have a bath and read my book tonight so I will just focus on the positives and go to bed earlier!

Thank you again. I hope I've not offended by not following advice and sticking to set BT :-\

You clearly have the twin of Jacob.... this is exactly what he would have done as well.

I find with a 8pm asleep I avoid most of the 5am stuff, but not all, and I know getting him to wake at 7am would never happen anyway yk?

I think some evening time is well worth having too  :-* :-*

Good on you Aishi, I think for a Lady who claims to be low on patience you've surpassed yourself Sweetheart. Like you said enjoy your evenings and early nights ;)
