OT caused this??
« on: August 25, 2014, 07:39:10 am »
We've been away this weekend at a wedding. DD hasn't slept well all weekend and I knew yesterday was pretty OT.

She was asleep at 6.15 last night, woke after an hour so resettled, then woke again after another couple of hours and again resettled her but was awake again after another 20 mins and this time really crying.
I picked her up and went into my room to put her in bed with me as I just wanted her to sleep and usually she goes straight off.

After maybe a minute she started crying hysterically and she was like that for over an hour!!! I just couldn't calm her down, I've never seen anything like it. She was getting so worked up and thrashing around in my arms and on the bed, throwing herself around like she didn't know what to do with herself.

Eventually she came and laid down on top of me and fell asleep. I first thought teeth as she is cutting one but medicine didn't seem to help so could it have just been she was that OT??

It could well be extreme OT, although with some of the bigger teeth meds haven't made the slightest bit of difference here :(. If it were me I'd medicate and then try to offer an earlier nap/BT or both just to cover all bases x

Hmmm things aren't going so well still. The past 2 days she's been constantly rubbing her eyes.
Both days she's had a decent nap still of 2hrs and I've kept her day to 12hrs rather than the usual 13 but last night she was awake for almost 2hrs just tossing and turning.

Tonight she's struggled to go to bed and is starting to act in that OT manic way (you know the one!) so ended up as 13hr day.

Her molars still aren't quite fully through and her two front teeth are just cutting through (she only has the 2 front ones so it's about time those ones next to them arrived!)

She's also in a leap so she's got it all going on bless her!

I know this is the last wonder week and then there's the 18mo SR but what blips are there after that? I like to prepare myself!!!!

It seems to be roughly every birthday and half birthday judging by what others here have experienced x
