3 month old only naps when held
« on: September 06, 2014, 23:31:42 pm »
Hello, my baby is turning 3 months tomorrow. This week we started the 4 hour EASY routine (before this we had no schedule at all) and it has been really good, the naps are only 30-40 min long, but I guess this will improve over time. My problem is that we went on a trip and my baby will only fall asleep when held. So far I've held and rocked her to go to sleep because I don't want the routine to be altered, but I don't know if I should let her cry instead of rocking her since I'm scared that when we get black home this bad habit continues.
Thank you!

Hi and welcome to BW! First off, congrats on the 4hr easy. We didn't manage that until at least 4mo!!

Are you back home now? Would you like to start sleep training soon rather than holding her to sleep? What you've done so far is not wrong at all, anything can be undone especially when they're so little. I don't blame you for choosing the simpler route whilst you've been away. Please don't worry. The most important thing is that you're there for your LO whilst she crying and soothing her.

Could you post the last few days easy for us to take a peek at and we'll see if anything needs tweaking there before we try and sleep train.

Back in a mo to post some links for you to have a read of too x
