My son is almost 6 months old and was sleeping through the night (except maybe 1x/week) until recently. Last night he woke up screaming and would not allow me to settle him or take a pacifier. Picking him up seemed to intensify it so unfortunately after several attempts at PU/PD I let him CIO. He was awake and crying for 2 hrs!

He is an extremely fast learner and has been meeting milestones very quickly (already crawling and trying to stand up). He also just recently got over a cold; however, this extreme amount of crying and unsettleness has NEVER happened.
Any thoughts as to what is going on or how I can get him back on track?
