I did not remove the paci right away, Im taking the Gentle removal path, thanks for sharing the link!

My LO seem to be able to sleep longer but she still wake after 50min as usual, I give her the paci then she would continue to sleep for another hour. Should I try not to give her the paci when she wakes up or continue?

Cheers.

It is really up to you, while you're working on the gentle removal, you should probably settle her at the 50 min mark using the same phase of the technique as you are using to get her settled g the start of BT or nap. You may find she doesn't always settle and if so then you'll need to shorten the next A time so she doesn't get OT for the next nap.

Hi,

I hope you are not bored with me yet!

Here are some updates on my no-progress progress :D.

I've tried Gentle Removal Plan but her naps doesnt get any longer, on the other hands, after a week she did not want the paci anymore at all. One day she totally refuse the paci, she cried badly. I tried PUPD. I read the book carefully about PUPD and did exactly what it said, took me 2 hours for the morning nap and 1 hour at bed time. Did not work! As long as I put her down, she cried louder. In the end she felt asleep in my arm! Fail!

The next day I was too exhausted to go through that again. Now she cries every single nap :( and I have to offer all the possible props to be able to put her on a nap. BT is a bit better, sometimes she sucks her thumb to sleep.

A time is now crazy, sometimes 1.40mins, sometimes 3hours, vary from day to day.
Eg:
w: 5.56
S: 7.56

W: 8.48
S: 10.43
W: 11.22 extend by BF
S: 11.40

W: 12.48
S: 15.55 (A time 3 hrs)

W: 16:40
BT: 18.30

The next day:

W: 6.40
S: 8.50

W: 9.35
S: 11.55

W: 12.50
S: 2.10 (A time 1h only)

W: 3.35
BT: 5.30  (wake up at 7 the next morning)

PUPD is not a no cry sleep solution honey, it will involve loud crying, possibly quite angry crying as your LO complains that you are changing something. But as long as you are staying with her this isn't necessarily a problem.

Well done for the paci removal, this is good. Has she found something else to help her self-soothe or do you feel she has replaced it with other props now? Would you like to use a consistent technique to try and help stop the props? Have you tried shh pat?

The pattern of A times is a tricky one, it's hard to see what is going on as you're not getting clear 30 min or 45 min naps. I do think that you need to think about shortening some of those A times, this is a difficult time for LOs as they become more alert and sleep in the day can be more tricky. It may be that she is going to short nap for a while so the important thing is to not let the A times get too long after a short nap as this will perpetuate Ot. How are her nights?
