If he take an hour to get back to sleep sometimes, do you think he could be UT? How long does he nap for for each of those naps?

Also, how does he fall asleep for naps and BT? Is he and independent sleeper?

We are in a v similar situation here, but I've had some luck at reducing NWs by increasing her daytime A times and then capping the second nap.

Nap1: 45 minutes
Nap2: 2 hours
He is not an indipendent sleeper, i stay in the room and sometimes pat on his back to make him sleep.
Do you think I should cut a nap?
Thanks

Well, that would be too much day sleep for my DD2 (and DD1 when she was that age). They are both a bit on the low side in terms of sleep needs though so for some LOs it would still be fine.

What time does he fall asleep at bedtime? It might be that he needs some help because he's not that tired.

You might need to experiment. Maybe try either a shorter second nap (eg try 1hr30) and see if that helps your nights.  If he seems really tired after a shorter nap though then you could always bring BT a touch earlier. WDYT?

I'd also try and work on IS. It sounds like he's nearly there - you don't give him much help. But maybe try and use your voice more rather than patting (or reduce the amount of patting) if/when he gets upset.

Thank you Very much, today I tryied to make him sleep less during the day. As you said I Will try to experiment!  ;)
I will work also on IS! Today he fell asleep alone. I was in the room and I gave only help if he turned upsidedown putting him on his back again.
Now he will begin to go to the nido d'infanzia (school?) And there he will do only one nap... how could I pass feom two to onenap? I should reduce the second or the first nap?
Thanks for your help!

There are some tips for the 2-1 transition here.
From 2 to 1 nap transition (10-12m and older)

Since he already has short first nap and longer second nap, then your best bet would probably be to gradually reduce the first nap (and not cap the second).  However you could do it the other way round and have a long first nap and then short second catnap (you might have to push naps later to achieve this).

How long until he starts there? It's a bit on the young side to go to one nap (most are ready at 12-18 mos, but some earlier). Is there no possibility they could still offer him two naps for a while?
