3 to 4 hour easy
« on: October 21, 2014, 15:09:46 pm »
I have a 15 week old who does four 45 min naps a day. I just can't push those naps longer, I've tried putting down earlier and later but as I have an older child I can't work my routine around him and sit stretching out naps by 5 minute intervals :-( I think if anything he is not tired enough but I can't lose that 4 nap as the others just aren't long enough to get till bed time!

I've noticed 3 hourly feeds sometimes he doesn't seem that hungry so think it's time to start pushing feeds back. Can somebody tell me what they'd do? He's sleeping great at night so don't want to get it wrong!

Currently
Wake and eat 8.00
Nap 9.45 for 45 mins
Wake 10.30
Eat 11
Nap around 12
Wake 12.45/1.00
Eat 2
Sleep 2.30
Wake 3.15
Eat 5.00
Sleep 5.15
Wake at 6
Bed at 8 and one feed at 6am and goes back till 8.

This sounds like me and DD at this age. You are doing fine. This will get better, usually around 6 months. It is partly developmental and will pass. Generally your night will tell on your day if it needs some fixing, so the short naps don't seem to be hurting him there. Your A times look quite appropriate, but have you tried another 15 minutes just to see how he does? I would give him a few days to settle into them. You could try feeding LO a but later after waking, maybe an AEASY sort of thing?
