Thanks dache and Katie. I think he would fall asleep wuth what you suggest, but logistically it's wouldn't work. He is in his own room and his cot doesn't have a drop side. It's really hard to know what to do because, like you dache I can't bare the thought of st and like you say Katie its not ideal or fair to do it anyway if we suspect teething. But the options are leave him in the crib but reassure verbally which sends him into meltdown at the minute or pick him up and hold him

think ill just have to carry on as we are for now and hope like you say he'll go back to IS when he feels comfortable to.
Ps. I have a carrier and love it, he used to nap in his sling when very little for hours, but not the case these days
