Should i now do another cat nap or very early bed time?
« on: December 05, 2014, 16:04:12 pm »
Hi all

Our schedule for my 4 mo today has looked like this:

6.25 w
8.25 s
9.40 w       1 hr 15
11.40 s
1.15 w          1 hr 35
3.15 s
3.45 w                30

So 3 hours 20 of day sleep so far. Should i do another cat nap or do bedtime at 5.45? I would ideally like a 7-7 routine but i seem to be on a 6-6, could anyone please suggest how to do this or is just my LOs body clock?

Thanks!

You can try to push the first A to be slightly longer. First nap already looks like slightly UT so it should harm your LO. With later first nap, you should have longer nap and longer day and also it should encourage your LO to sleep longer in the mornings.

Hth!

Thanks so much for the reply.

So in the end i did bedtime at 6 and had lots of wakings all night.

Today went like this:

6.30 w
8.45 s      1.15
10 w
12.10 s
12.35  w     25
12.50 s
1.30 w        40
3.35 s
4.05 w         30
4.15 s    cried and slept again every 2 mins until
4.30 w
6.05 s
6.40

So i still got a 1 hr 15 min nap, does that mean A time needs even more of an increase? Also the lunch time nap and afternoon nap, is she undertired/overtired? I was aiming for A times of 2.15, 2, 2, 2 does that sound ok? If anyone could give any suggestions at all i would appreciate it!

It's very difficult to say if after first nap she was OT or UT if the first nap is UT. I would push your dd slightly more in the morning to check if you finally have at least 1:30 nap. Than I would go for the same A roughly as in the morning, and push back/forward if needed. Right now that second nap (naps) looked like OT to me, especially that you managed to resettle. If your morning nap will still be 1:15, I would go for slightly shorter A than you did, 2:00 or slightly less even.

When the day starts with UT naps, usually LOs are OT by BT as there was no place during day for them to rest.
