milk supply.
« on: January 22, 2015, 05:13:40 am »
Hi there,
I mix- feeding LO. 1 FF at 7pm & BF for the rest. (He has the longest sleep from 8pm to 1am)
For some reasons (but I havent found out yet), LO spent 3-7minute BF from week 12 to week 22. I need to express milk out at 8pm every night for that period.

Now at wk 22, he's spending.... hours on my breast. He felt asleep on there... (look like hes back to Newborn). But breasts arent ful up to 2aml even I dont express at 8pm.

 Does my milk suppy drop?

Milk is made more on demand rather than in advance and stored in the breast by this age so it is normal to not get engorged between feed.

Is he actively feeding for hours (I'm guessing not) or is he just hanging out and using it to get to sleep? Are you feeding on wake up at the start of A time or before sleep each time?

When he at 3hour Easy I fed at beginning of A time. But he took a bit then..  look at me & laughing, cooing...blah blah.
so I increase to 3.5 EASY. I then fed 30min after wake up. He still ...play play play...
When I up him to 4hour Easy with 2h A & 1,5h S. He again... play play...

This wk I push up 2h15 A & 2h S. I feed 1hour after wake up. He seems to swallow & suck more but still not cry for hungry (He hasnt cried for milk since wk 12, I have a really happy baby.hahaha). Because I have more than 2h A now so I just...wait until he cry & ...feed him. Stimes before S, stimes just rite after wake up. I think depend on his last feed. But whatever time hewould fall asleep rather than Play like before.

I forgot to mention he sleeps through 2h each nap now (full nap not CN  which never happen since 3rd week old). So I think A time is right for him atm.

He is happy & active after each feed even just 3min feeding.
He is happy & active even just gained 50gr (fifty gram) each week
He is happy & active even just have little bit of wee after each feed.

So im not sure because Im lucky to have a really happy DS OR the milk is enough for him OR his demand drop down to fit my supply.

ah, 1 extra thing. Last night he woke up 4-5 times to cry. When I put him lie next to me, he used 1 hand to put my dress down & the other hand to....pull my nipple.  :-X ???. I thought he was hungry then fed him for the whole night but he kept WU & cry & did the same thing to my nipples.... ???
Does a 22wk baby know how to...find food ???? Or he just accidently did sthing for play????

Will let u know would he do that again tonight. Lol.

I think he is in WW. WU everynight to cry. Im thinking to feed him every WU to increase my supply.

Thanks Ali for the link.
i read through it but E is not my mother language so I dunt think I can get all :))
But I will re-read it tomorrow :). Thanks God to send Bo to me. Since I have him, my E increases.... alots  ;D

Just double check w u that the article says If a baby has 6 wet nappies & not loose weight it means the milk supply & feedingtime r oke?
I BF Bo 4-5times + FF 150ml in 24 hours.
I do not change nappies for Bo much but I am sure he pees every feed & he gains a bit of weight every week. That means he is fine now?
