Audrey loved and still loves playing with shaving foam. Also cornflour goop, sand, water play, play dough

Baking!!!! Then you can eat the end result :)

Also any sort of treasure box play, or even bags, putting things in, taking things out, putting them in, etc etc for hours.

I LOVE the Tinkerlab book, loads of good ideas for both girls. Thinking a thread might be in order!

Baking tray full of rice/couscous/small pasta - can "write" in it, dig in it, pour between containers etc etc :)

Oh lord pouring!  Yes, pouring!  Endlessly!

Rice, red and green lentil, barley etc pictures.  You can paint some glue on cardboard and let H sprinkle rice and so on, it'll stick and she'll have done a picture.

Jelly, doesn't matter if they eat it or cooked spaghetti with food colouring. Flour on a baking try is good for pictures too as you can just spread it out again to start a new picture.

Pudding as finger paint...they do that at daycare a lot with the toddlers. Today we had water play in the sink, my cupboards and floor are very clean now as most of the pouring did not go back in the sink!

ketchup hand and foot prints, or just drawing in a tray of it.
Potato prints, sponge prints
Freeze little plastic bugs or other toys into blocks of ice and throw them into a tray during water play.

Trays full of canned spaghetti, cornflakes, baked beans...my DS never liked any of these really but other kids at toddler groups loved them so there must be some good play to be had :)

various scents in bottles/tubs. So often sensory play is limited to the 'messy' tactile play but the other senses can be involved too.  Collect together some small plastic tubs or bottles with lids. IN each put a different scent, a cotton ball spray with your fav perfume, a cotton ball with a few drops of whatever essential oils you have, one with a dab of vinegar, lemon juice etc.  Then explore your herbs and spice rack - cinnamon, ground coriander, turmeric, cardamon pods, garlic etc.  The 'less safe' scents can be shoved into a narrow neck bottle to prevent LO getting them out.

Sounds sensory play - lots of home made musical instruments, pans, hand whisk etc crinkly paper, dry pasta in a tub, rice in a tub, 2 wooden spoons together, one wooden spoon scarped along corrugated card etc.  You can just play with them and explore or do a quiz where all the items are under a sheet so LO can't see which one you 'play' then lift the sheet and LO guesses which item made that sound, replace the sheet for the next secret sound.
