Hi everyone :)

My little DD is 5 months and very keen to drop her late catnap. Ira hard to get her down for it and then hard to get her down for bed. My issue is that school run means she's woken up 5 days a week in the afternoon...and dropping to two naps just won't fit in with that and means she'll be up for too long before bed.

This is what I have been doing:
E 7:00
S 9:15-10/10:15 she usually does 45 here
E 10:30
Solids 11:30
S 12:15/12:30-2:00
Wake and into car for school trip
E 2:30 at school
S 4:00/4:15/4:30 catnap! So hats
E 4:45
Solids 5:30
Bath
E 6:30/45
Bed 7, but now closer to 7:30 when I get her down
DF 10:30
Nw are an issue, had been waking at 9:30pm and other times after df
Still feeding at least once between DF and morning

Ok so the latest I can leave for school pickup is 2:20. The round trip means I don't get home until 3:45 earliest.

Anyone care to help me work out an easy that can work? I'm scared to keep waking her as I don't want her to go back to short naps!!

Thanks so much :)

My thoughts - I don't think a traditional EASY will work for you, when you have other commitments then you will have to force the routine to some extent in order to accommodate the needs of your family whilst also allowing your LO ample opportunity to rest.  Would you consider perhaps starting your day at 6.30/45am? You could then do a shortish first A, 45 min nap, another shortish A aiming for a long nap at lunchtime say 11.45/12-2pm.  Then a BT on the early side, closer to 6pm?  It's not typical BW but have seen others do well on that style of routine.  The shorter As earlier in the day allegedly compensate for the long one in the afternoon.  What do you think?

Interesting, thanks! I hadn't thought of that scenario. I see what I can work out. I do love 7-7but maybe I'll have to adjust that. Thanks so much.

I've been thinking a lot about this, I really need a 7pm bedtime. Reason being that I often have night meetings for church things I'm involved in. If she goes down at 6, I'll need to bring forward the DF which means I'll be leaving meetings early- they often start at 8. 10:30 is ideal DF for meetings. 7 let's me settle her by 7:30 then go.

That's so painful isn't it! Sorry :( I do appreciate your time and help.

Could I do super long first nap? Then shorter arvo nap? That won't be practical when I have morning errands though.

Hi Bec... I don't think you need to bring forward the DF, just because she's going to bed earlier. It's a longer stretch, yes, but unless she's waking hungry for it, I don't think it needs to change. :-\

I think super-long first nap would probably lead to some EWs.....the earlier bt would only be for a short while until she is used to the two naps, and as Katie says I think your could probably leave DF where it is.
