I'll try a shorter A time for the first one in the morning.

As far as feeds go at night, she was sleeping for 4-5 hours, but all of that stopped.  I don't think it' a growth spurt, but who knows.  Sometimes, lately she doesn't get full feeds either.  She'll be super fussy because it's time to eat, but then she'll only have 5 minutes or so.  She's gaining weight really well so I guess I shouldn't be worried, but I just find it weird that she won't have her usual 10 minutes all of a sudden.

I could certainly put her down earlier.  I'll try that.

I'm very confused about the whole cat nap, bath time business.   If it takes 20-30 minutes to get her down then what should we do for the cat nap part of the EASY routine?

The CN can be a tough one. On the days she is resisting it, could you APOP a nap in the sling or stroller?

I wouldn't worry about feeds getting shorter. They do get more efficient as they get older. As long as she is happy after the feed and having plenty of wet diapers, nothing to worry about. However, you could try feeding in a quiet room to minimize distractions.

Also, last time I tried the dream feed, she still woke up when would have without it.  So I stopped, but I can try again.  Maybe since she's older and heavier it'll work.  We'll see.

How long did you do the DF? It takes a while for it to take effect

We only tried it twice.  Not sure how long you recommend.  All of this is new to us cause our first baby was apparently a huge angel/dream!!  She ust did everything and didn't make us work very much at all hahahaha

Here's how things are going so far.  Let me know what you think we should tweak.

8:30 W E
9:30 S (usually only lasts 45 minutes or so)
11:30 E
12:15 S (sometimes a longer nap 1.25)
2:30 E
3:30 S (usually longer nap 2 hours)
5:30 E
6:30 S (short nap 45 minutes)
8:00 E
8:30 S (usually doesn't actually get to sleep until 9)
11:00 DF
3:00 E
5:00 E
8:30 W

We don't seem to be able to o the cat naps.  Also, it seems to take her forever to get to sleep at night around 8pm.  I tried a bit earlier which didn't work, and I can't imagine later would be good.  What do you think?

Push it out a bit. Or try to be in the room at 45 and pat him back down. Sounds like he is not tired enough to transition

3:30 S (usually longer nap 2 hours)
5:30 E
6:30 S (short nap 45 minutes)
8:00 E
8:30 S (usually doesn't actually get to sleep until 9)
Hun, if you are getting a nap from 3.30 to 5/5.30, why not go straight to bed time at 6.30.7? Why even bother with the catnap.

Okay!  I don't know.  I'll try that.  I just figured that was too early.  Let's see how that works.

K so here's how things went down tonight.

She napped from 4-5:45.  I fed her at 5:45 and then again at 7:30 and put her down.  She went down pretty easily and slept for an hour.  I resettled her and she slept for another 30 minutes, but woke up so hungry.  I fed her and put her back down and she's still sleeping.  We'll see what happens.

I made a mistake.  I fed her and put her down at 7.  She slept until 8 and then went back down until 8:30 when I fed her again and put her down.  She slept until 1 and then woke up at 2:30 and 3:39 with gas.  Slept until 6 and then woke up at 8.

K so I did the same thing tonight.  Fed her at 5:45 and then again at 7 and put her down.  She needed to be resettled a couple of times, but she's still sleeping and it's 10:45!  So I'll wake her for the dream feed at 11 and then we'll see how the rest of the night goes.

Honey, don't wake her for the dream feed. It's done  while they are sleeping

So basically you are splitting the feed around bath and tanking her up that way, right? The way today is going sounds normal. Being hungry just an hour or two later doesn't quite  sense. You are probably right that it's OT

Okay, I wanted to post an update and see if what you think of what's going on now.

It became clear that my DD was not latching properly even though it seemed like she was.  As soon as  started pumping and giving her bottles, she was much more content and would nap for longer periods.  SO we've been working on getting up to a better routine.

She's still not doing long stretches at night though so maybe you have some advice.  She seems to only want to eat every 4 hours so it kind of throws off the whole awake time thing cause we would be feeding her and putting her right to bed.

Here's how things are going now.
8 wake eat
9:30 sleep
11 wake
12 eat
1 sleep
3 wake
4 eat
4:30 sleep
6:30 wake eat
7:30-8 sleep
11 dream feed
4 feed
sometimes an extra feed

what do you think?

She must be nearly 3 months old now, right? So looking at your routine, you seem to be doing A times of 1.5 hrs - 2 hrs - 1.5 hrs, with 3 naps  - 1.5 + 2 + 2, yes? It seems fine to me. The only thing I would add is to keep BT at least 1.5 hours after that 2 hour nap as that is a very long nap at the end of the day. 1 - 2 night feeds along with a dream feed are still very normal at this point.

Just wanted to post the new routine and see if anyone has any advice.  Our original problems were all due to not nursing properly.  We switched her to bottles and she was a different baby!!

Here's what our days look like.  She's 4.5 months now
7am wake up
7:45-8 bottle 5.5-6 ounces
9-9:30 nap time
11-11:15 wake up
12 bottle 5.5-6 ounces
1:15-1:30 nap time
3-3:15 wake
4 bottle 5.5-6 ounces
5:30 catnap
6:00-6:15 wake
7 bottle 5.5-6 ounces
7:30 bed time (usually fusses a lot between 7:30-8)
11:00-11:30 dream feed 6-6.5 ounces
3-3:30 wake and bottle 6-6.5 ounces
7 wake

She seems to go to bed pretty easily, but we have to keep going back in to put her soother back in which is pretty annoying.  Should we just leave that or try and take the soother away.  I just worry that she's not learning to soothe herself, but maybe when she's older and can put it back in herself, she'll be good.  I don't know.  our first baby was a thumb sucker.

She's heavy and eats a lot and I guess I'm surprised that she's not sleeping longer stretches.  Any suggestions?
