Moving to a 4 hr EASY??
« on: March 04, 2015, 08:36:22 am »
DS is 14 weeks  :o. Since he is bottle fed I am starting to wonder whether I should start to space the feeds and see what happens.

His EASY is a mess due to reflux and having 2 older siblings. The A time that I am most aware of is the morning, and I guess that is 1h 45 or so now. But he may short nap.

I've basically been feeding him every 3 hrs, and he still takes night feeds. I wonder if I should try and stretch and see if that improves his feeds (given a smoother feed could also help the wind/reflux)? Obviously I can always step back if the volumes become too much for him.

His reflux is responsible for most of his short naps.... I can hear him gulping and gagging. I can often extend by holding him until the gulping and swallowing settles, and then pop him down again for him to sleep the rest of his nap.

He generally takes 2 feeds at night (I don't DF). First one is usually about 1am, next at 4-5am.

Maybe nothing can be done, but I am getting fed up of gulped/ fidgety 3oz feeds  ::).

This is where it gets tricky though....

So far I have fed him at 6.20am, 10.30am and now 2.10pm.

What do I do?? Feed a few oz at 5 and then attempt the bedtime feed at 7??? Or just do his feed at 6pm ish and call that a night....

I don't want to start encouraging 5am starts  ;).

His reflux was a bit dodgy for sleep after a larger feed, but he did have a broken proper nap which is good enough for now.

His reflux gets dodgy with frequent small feeds anyway.
