Nearly 6mo waking happy and squealing for playtime at 2/3am
« on: March 05, 2015, 09:18:13 am »
Hi there :)

My dd is nearly 6mo. She's putting me through the ringer this week. The latest weapon she's added to her repertoire is the dreaded middle of the night crib party.

It's only been in the past week that she's started waking earlier than usual but to play not feed (still doing DF and night feed at around 3:30/4am usually).

Does anyone have any suggestions to offer me? Thanks!!

Our LO had regular cot parties, almost always due to not enough wake time in the day, so I would push out his awake time by 10 mins and reduce the naps accordingly. Also could try dropping the night feed as at 6 months the night feed should be enough to sustain her?

Can you post your full routine?

My routine won't suit you now as my LO is 9 months and we're going through the fun of 1-2 nap transition. However at 6 months we got it working like this:

7am wake up (we woke him, else he was quite happy to sleep later but then resist his bedtime)
10.15am nap (3 hours 15 min wake time)
11.45am wake up (nap of 1.5 hours to 2 hours. We used wake to
Sleep to get him past the 45 min wake up)
3pm nap (1 hour)
4pm wake up awake time of 3hrs 30 by which time super sleepy he'd go
To sleep
Dreamfeed at 11pm

He has always needed a longer awake time than his peers so you'll need to
Judge the awake time accordingly. When it was right so not UT/OT he would go
Down for naps super easily. He would cry blue murder
If he wasn't tired enough!

There are some big A times in there with very little daytime sleep.....could well be OT causing your issues.  Did you get the NWs both nights you posted?
