7m solids/how much/how often?
« on: March 11, 2015, 18:09:02 pm »
Hello!  My LO is 7 months old and has been eating pureed foods for about 5 weeks now.  Not sure how much I should be feeding him and how often.  He is EBF otherwise and on the very thin side.  The doctor said he is healthy so not to worry about the weigh (and that US weight charts are quite liberal).
Right now he has about 3oz at lunch and another 1-2oz at dinner.  I am nervous to give him too much and have him not BF enough.
Thoughts?

Sounds like you're doing fine :)
Usually people offer solids roughly 1hr after the milk feed and 2 meals at this age sounds good too.
You can introduce a third meal in the next month or two if he is interested, you might also consider introducing finger foods so he can experience the texture of the food much closer to the way the family eat it. A small portion of your family meals or perhaps have a look at the finger foods thread.
