Help getting a routine started
« on: March 16, 2015, 11:06:17 am »
hi everyone now my boys are home I would like to start a proper routine. They are now 20wks (10 was premature)

Lewis is 9lb and very content, will take 5 oz per feed every 4hrs and goes to sleep independently sometimes with his dummy sometimes without and can stay awake for 1hr 15/20 mins.

Leo on the other hand has became overtired I think and isn't so keen at the moment to go to sleep himself. He can take between 5/6oz average awake times 1hr 15/20 also.

Nights are normally quite good no set bedtime just go with feed times and work it out from their after baths. They sleep for a good 6 hrs straight then wake for a feed after that.

Thanks

Nicola

I found today that Leo likes sleeping on his front and so ot doesn't seem to be an issue with him at all, just uncomfortable.

These guys seem to be waking early from 3-5 hungry.I fed them both at 2am and they both started grumbling around 4, tried the dummies a few times and fed at 6:30.they are having around 5 feeds a day.

Hi there! What sort of day are you having at this time? If we know what you are doing now and what sort of sleep that gets you then perhaps we can  refine things a bit. Just going to drop off some links in case you need them. :)

Hi thanks for replying.

We don't have a set time that we start our day but most of the time it's between
7&8 feed
1hr 20 min activity time
Sleep til their next feed really which is normally every 4hrs.

The last few nights I've been getting them to their bed earlier 6:30/7:30 the first part of the night they tend to sleep for 6 hrs then up every 4 hrs after that.

With their A times I feel like I'm going with 10wk age as they seem so sleepy still instead of 20wks, that's what's confusing me.

I had a look at the A times. For a four months old it's 1 hr 45 mins to 2hrs they struggle to make 1.5 hrs and that's them 21wks. Unless I start increasing A times to try sort my days out a bit?
