I think nap needs pushing (sorry to go on....).....at his age we were pushing towards a 1/1.30pm nap from a 6.30/7am WU, with some shorter naps on nursery days.  I think probably he doesn't have enough A in a decent chunk in the day to make him tired enough to settle well for bed.  If you don't like moving nap too much you could wake earlier in morning?  But I think probably 5h pre and post nap isn't quite right now.  We had more like 6-6.5 before and shorter afterwards, 4-4.5h

But yesterday we did do a 1pm nap (1-2:20) adter waking around 715 am then into crib at 740 but he didn't fall asleep until 830! He had a lot of energy though at night after dinner and just couldn't wind down. That would make me think he would need more A time before bed no? If I did 730 wake 1-230 nap and into crib at 730 so he was asleep at 8? He used to do well with a 7/730 wake 1230-2 ( on occasion 230) bedtine 730.

So it been about two weeks of trying to push nap back but nothing helps! Yesterday was no nap again but he fell asleep before 630 last night because he was exhausted. He slept until about 645 today and I tried for the old naptime at 1230 today. Had to wiwo 3 times. The third time I picked him up but didn't move away from crib. He fell asleep in my arms and would cry a little with his eyes closed. He finally fell asleep. This is off from a child who always goes in his crib awake and falls asleep on his own. Any other suggestions? This is getting stressful every day.

So tonight he cried when we put him in crib for bed had to wiwo twice. This is a baby who goes down every night awake in crib and puts himslf to sleep. Help! This is getting so frustrating. And I think he's exhausted!

It sounds like he's accumulated some OT :( can you post last 2-3 days? Maybe throw in a super EBT?

It's got to be ot at this point. I thought subday night going down at 630 was a super early bt. I think last night his teeth might've been bothering him because he woke crying from nap and couldnt calm down for over an hour which is when the tylenol might've kicked in.
Monday:
645 awake
Put in crib 1230 had to wiwo 3 times fell asleep at 1 until 1:30 woke crying
7 put in crib had to wiwo twice he was crying fell asleep 740 ish

Sunday:
730 awake
Tried 130 nap ( had people over at house) he just stood up crying but was overtired never napped at all
630 asleep passed out!

Saturday:
720 awake
Went into crib maybe 1245 wiwo twice fell asleep aroubd 1 slept for an hour
Into crib 730 not asleep until after 8

Friday:
730 awake
Tried nap at 1 wiwo twice fell asleep at 130 until 220 ish b

I never have to wiwo at night he usually just plays a while and falls asleep on his own. Last night was the first time I had to wiwo. Nap time has been rough for a few weeks which is why I pushed nap later from 1230-1 but still giving me problems and I have to wiwo every day.

Today he woke at 720 and started to cry first thing. I gave him tylenol and it seemed to help. It's got to be his 2 year molars. I also gave him tylenol before nap and put him down at 1220. He sat up for a while but no crying ( first time in over a week) and fell asleep by 1230! So it seems we are back on old nap schedule at least for now until he gets over the ot. The only reason I pushed the nap was because he was awake in crib for a while fussing and crying not seeming tired ebough at 1230. But ever since I pushed it later it's been more of a problem.

He napped for an hour 1230-130 but woke happy. I'll probably try for 7 bedtime

He ended up going into crib at 720 without a fuss and was asleep before 8 which is pretty typical for him this past month. Plus with the tylenol I really think it helped. I'm just wondering if I should just stick with old nap time at 1230 or if it was just the tylenol that helped him lol. He was up from his nap at 130 and wasn't asleep until 8 isn't that a long A time before bed? And he's already up this morning before 7 which isn't early but he usually does an 11.5-12 hour night after only an hour nap the day before.

Day 2 of tylenol and old nap time of 1230 and he went right down! He might only sleep an hour and be up at 130 but he seems to handle the long A time before bed :) maybe he will just take an early short nap unlike most toddlers his age. Whatever works ;)

Me too! Guess I'll just look for signs again to see if he's ready to push nap back again.  Do tiddlers 21 months usually push out the nap later before they drop it?  I'm hoping he'll keep the nap for a while longer :)

I think it really depends on the toddler.  Some will keep at same time right up to nap drop, just shortening or having it capped shorter.  DD started to refuse her nap so we had to push later to keep it or she would never go to sleep.  Hopefully the 1-0 is a while off for you - though I have to say the day is a whole load easier without naps to work round!!
