Happy with routine except EW!
« on: March 25, 2015, 10:12:09 am »
Hey. My guy is 11 months
For a few weeks now he hasn't slept past 540 which wake ups being 500-540 avg about 530
His routine
Wake up - breastfeed
730 solids
9 (striving for 930) nap for avg 1-1.5hr
Just introduced small snack on wake up instead of breastfeed in last few days)
1200 breastfeeds
100 solids
200 nap for avg 1-1.5hr
Started giving small snack on wake up to replace breastfeeds he used to have after nap
500 solids
600 breastfeeds then bath story song and bed usually by 630 but we are noticing is closer to 7 before he falls asleep lately

So what do I tweek to get him sleeping til 6am again? He starts daycare soon and I'm fearful he won't be sleeping well there and we will get into OT with these early morning wakings....

Morning nap a bit too early and too long hun :). It's all part and parcel of the 2-1 - have you read the FAQ links?  10/11 month old sleep gone wonky? Read this first!  Probably need to start pushing the morning nap a touch later and shortening it so hopefully morning WU will start to move later again :)

Thank you for your reply
So does having morning nap at 930 instead of 9 make more sense? Do I need to wake him at the hour? Then keep the rest of the day the same?

Yes I would work towards something like 9.30-10.30 and then second nap perhaps just a touch earlier, depending on cues :)

he's doing what the faq predicts, still up about 530 and really fighting afternoon nap, despite being woken from morning nap!

How long have you done the 1h morning nap?  What have your last few days looked like?

About 5 days now since limiting morning nap
But hooray today he slept til 605!!! and he was crabby so he went down at 920 and settled well.

Generally this is what's happening
awakes around 540 and nurses
solids 730
nap 930
wake up and small snack 1030
breastfeed 1200
lunch 1300
nap 200 but been taking anywhere from 20-50 min to settle and needing help! (just one day took 50!! - one day I put him down about 150 and he settled sooner then what he has been - he's learned to go from laying down to sitting up too...)
generally wakes from 315-330ish
has small snack on wake up
1700 supper
1800 breastfed, bath, story, bed by 630-645 and usually alseep no later then 7

ps: I really appreciate your time!

Sounds like you are on the right track, he may need that pm nap a touch earlier then if he settled better when PD at 1.50. I would stick with 1h for another day or two and then maybe push to 45 mins if still getting an early start. Bear in mind pm nap may need to come earlier again if you do that x
