My DS was like this, and I am lactose intolerant so have a lactose free diet, but he still reacted. He is lactose intolerant as well. Could she be reacting to breast milk?

Yes think she is reacting to breastmilk.i know it impossible to cut out lactose in breastmilk but don't want to stop breastfeeding as she is thriving I just wondered if there anything I could take to see if might make difference with poos? Thanks

I never found anything with DS :( Beyond switching to lactose free formula, which I wouldn't want to do.... If she is thriving, I am thinking it might just be something to be got through. You could try an elimination diet to see if she's reacting to something else, like  gluten or certain common spices, maybe?

I know this might sound crazy to some but I find sitting my babies on the potty helps pass stools. I think the position makes them automatically release or something. That might be worth considering so she can get the stool out before you put her to sleep. Check out Elimination Communication for more info

We also have a support thread here if it is something you decide to pursue.

It might also be worth considering a medication like Infacol or gripe water for the gas.

Thanks very much interesting website. Might try it as I toilet trained my eldest girl at 20 months as she strained her poos and made things much better thanks
