Well it seems here her sleep needs have completely dropped, argh  ;). Pain in the backside! Naps aren't a problem at all, it's going to bed at night  ::).

Yep, definitely time for an increase hun. Mine did the exact same thing. Maybe increase by 15mins today (if I'm not too late), if that doesn't work, add on another 10mins the next day. I'd hold the A time to BT as that seems to be working and you're not having any early NW's at all? You've got space in your day to lengthen it a little.

Set nap works in that it helps them regulate. But you're totally right, the A time does need to be right. And it was there for a while, she's just gotten used to it to get her through the transition and now is looking for a little more. Im thinking it might have been a little short anyway because of the 1.5hr naps rather than 3hrs. She's been at that time long enough in that a little extra shouldn't cause too many issues, she says  ;). A little tweaking to get it in the right place is to be expected really. Xx

I though your DD stopped napping at all ! That would be way too early.
Each developmental milestone is very vivid in my DD's behavior, seems like the smallest thing will make her not wanting to sleep :)
So, again it looks like she is teething or just learning something new. But very fussy most of the day. One night was up from 10-12:30. Probably OT. I think I did 5 hrs before BT Then.
Last night she was up several times but didn't need me!
A day before yesterday she had a 2 hrs nap !
but I am struggling with preventing OT at bedtime. She doesn't fall asleep soon enough at 4"30 mark. If I put her down at 5 hrs A time, she is falling asleep at the breast and sometimes has OT WU.
Today 5h15 first A time gave us 45 min nap. But she was measurable going down, I thought OT.
So, will keep trying 5h15 first A, and 4h30 second one.
hopefully those teeth will be out!
Funny I remember I posted here a month ago thinking her teeth were almost out then :))

Teething can go on forever, blasted things! Yep, I'd keep trying with the 4.30hr last A and see if she settles into it. Perhaps medicate with ibuprofen for nap and BT and see if it makes a difference for a day?

Mine couldn't do 5hrs to BT until recently. That always gave us OT NW's too xx

Thanks!  oh, wow,  a shorter A time before bed can last for a long time I see.
So, it looks like I have to start putting her down a little earlier to give her more time to decompress. Will see if it changes her NWs. So far she is up every 2 hrs, but good didn't need me!!!
As I understand I need to keep increasing first A time until her nap will last at least 2 hrs, right?

Yes, but I'd do it slowly from now on in as it'll be difficult to see what suits her best until you hold for a few days like we did before. Mine too started taking half an hour to fall asleep at night when we went yo one nap, which I played around with for ages thinking it was UT. But anything over the 5hr mark gave us the OT NW's. I just had to accept that was her new way of winding down at night and put her down early enough so that didn't happen. Again, we've had that forever since   ::). All just trail and error as you can see.

Some can do crazy long A in the morning and a tiny A to BT but it is on the rarer side from what I've found. Someone told me they had 7hrs first A and only 4 to BT for a very long time until nap dropping came in. Others like it the other way round (not necessarily so extreme), and there's only one I've ever seen that likes the same either side so far.

NW's are tough, got them here too now atm so totally feel your pain   :-*

You are so helpful!  Thank you!!!
Now DD has a cold :( Was up last night for 1,5 hrs....
when you say you had OT NW's do you mean NW in the first two hours or during the whole night?
Still can't figure out her A time before bed. But you are right, will have to go slower and hold on for more days.
Hope your DD is better at her routine now!

My pleasure.. Tbh the 2-1 was the only one I got right I think?..Messed up the 3-2 royally  ;)

Oh no, I hate colds! A vaporub on the bottom of their feet at night works really well (I'm sure you have something like that in oz?). It's a strange thing which I thought was an old wives tale, but after one night horrible night here, I tried it and it worked!! I did put a little on her chest and back too.

Unfortunately you have to go with the flow when they're poorly. If she does need an extra nap today, give her one. I tried to push DD when she was poorly to her usual nap time and she passed out on the sofa! That hasn't happened since she was a few weeks old... It was nice having the cuddles though  ;). She was back to normal nap time the next day albeit a little more tired.

Yep, for us OT NW's were usually after the first sleep cycle after BT, then maybe a couple more after that. It will be hard to tell with yours atm given the silly cold though. Lots of get well vibes xx

P.s and thanks for  asking... Things have settled down a little more here thanks to everyone on the TS board, however I'm not a fan of these 14hr days  ::).

Thanks for reminding about the vaporub,  I had some but forgot to use it. Looks like it is helping. Her nap was too short. I think she couldn't breath because of stuffed nose. Poor babies!  And she hates when I try to suck it.
Praise God last night was very good!
Nice to hear about your DD. 14 hrs days....wow. almost like an adult but with a nap :)
