Help to get 3 month old to sleep longer!
« on: May 26, 2015, 10:50:05 am »
my lo eats a lot during the day so sleeps good at night. she goes down at 830/9 stirs around 1am for 5 mins and puts herself to sleep, she then wakes up for a feed 4/5 which she goes down within half hour but then only sleeps for an hour after that feed! how can I get her to just sleep a little longer and I don't really get why she only has an hour. she has a great bedtime routine which is the same every night and she is swaddled. Any advice much appreciated xxx :D

Can you write out what a normal day would look like: feed times, awake times, nap times/lengths?

She is not really on a strict schedule in terms of eating etc she is on a strict bedtime routine which is the same each night and she doesn't nap very well in the days.

Eat 630 am
Nap -30 -45 mins
Play
Eat 930am
Nap 1 hour
Play
Eat 1230 pm
Play
Cat naps 20 mins
Eat 330pm
Naps 30 mins
Play
Eat 530pm
Nap 30 min
Play
Bath 8pm
Last feed 830-845
Sleep
Eat 330 am
Wake 5am
I hope this helps as struggling what to do from here x thanks

Can you add the times that she is waking and napping? That's the info that will tell us if a routine change will help her sleep longer.

To be honest she has no set nap routine right now sometimes it's 30 mins sometimes 1 hour or varies and it can be anywhere too her pram the car her swing. Do you think I should set a time each day for her to have a proper nap ?

Not a set time for naps bit a fairly consistent amount of awake time would be good. If you can log the times she wakes and sleeps, that will help us figure out if she needs more or less awake time to sleep for longer stretches.
