I'll put my two month old down in her crib when I feel the jolt in my arms that she's drifting off. She has a dummy in her mouth. Sometimes I can take it out and pop my finger under her chin and she will be ok.
However. Within 5-10 minutes she will jolt awake, play quietly (often) for 10 mins and then start to cry. Without intervention (holding again and putting dummy back in), she will not put herself back to sleep.
I've only recently begun baby whispering EASY yet she is sleeping through the night (8ish-7ish). Her inability to nap however is problematic as Abe becomes increasingly exhausted throughout the day. Her bedtime is hence a mess and she won't feed well, and will fall asleep/wake up for a good hour or two until she finally decides to latch properly and have a good, coma inducing sleep for the night.
I need to teach her how to nap better. If someone could help me extend her naps - with or without a dummy, that'd be great.
I don't have an EASY schedule to post because she doesn't have one. I have two other kids to work around too unfortunately with daycare and school pickups after 4pm which always screw up her afternoon siesta.
Thanks
Alecia

Unfortunately there's no magic way to extend naps if the awake time isn't age appropriate. So while you have to fit naps around other kids activities, you may have to accept that short naps are just par for the course, yk? Would she nap longer if you just leave her with the paci (and deal with getting rid of it at some later stage)? Or you could try putting her in a sling or wrap and carrying her for a nap to see if that helps.
