Sleep training success, question about naps
« on: May 29, 2015, 16:15:24 pm »
Wasnt sure if i should post here or the easy forum so feel free to move if need be!!!
Since ds is now sleeping mostly though the night (when he wakes up he settles himself quickly) I though his daytime sleep would decrease a little or his A times would increase. Hes still ready to go down at 3.5 hr intervals and he will sleep for 2 hrs sometimes at both naps and still go down at night. Is this normal? Have I been blessed with a baby that likes to sleep or should I mess with it and try and get him ready for 2-1 transition? This is our easy:

Up at 630
E BF at 7 breakfast at 8
A 630-930/10
S 930/10-1130/12

E BF 1230 Lunch 1ish
A1130/12-3/330
S3/330-4 ( I almost always have to cap this nap at 4)

E BF 4 dinner 5ish
A 4-730
S 730

Honey, if it's not broke, don't fix it! If he's finally STTN for you, I really wouldn't tweak anything at all.
I would call it karma for all those rough nights you used to have with him  ;)

Just watch out for warning signs like the naps getting shorter (1.5hrs is fine, but 1hr or less), and/or cot parties during the night. He may not be ready to go to one nap until the later range of *normal*.

He's almost 12mo old now right? Fwiw we had a couple of fantastic weeks around this age where DD was sleeping 2.5hrs for her one nap and 12hrs at night! That soon went down to 2hrs DT sleep and 11 ONS. Threw me at the time  ;)
