EW- 8.5 month old
« on: June 06, 2015, 20:48:04 pm »
Hello all,

DS is 8.5 months and has always risen quite early (for the last 2 months at least) around 6am. Our day routine has been going well and we are getting 1 long nap and 1 cat nap and STTN.. But the last couple of weeks he's been waking more often at 5am ready to play! After 30m he starts crying so I end up getting him up. I wondered if someone could look at my EASY and see if something needs a tweak? We were running out of hours and for some reason our A times have been getting shorter throughout the day- maybe this is the issue?

Generally he does 4h15 first thing then 3h10 then 2.45-3h before BT. I've had to cut As to compensate for the longer first A. Should I cut the first nap instead to 1.5h then stretch second A? I'm finally getting a good first nap but as he wakes so early this ends up being in the morning and maybe he ends up OT by the end of the day?

EASY below, solid feeds excluded:

Today:
WU 5.20
E 6am
E 9am
S 9.30 (2.5 hours, I woke him)
E 13.30
S 15.25 (30m)
E 18.00
S 18.50 (fought bedtime, unsure if OT or UT). No OT wakings

Yesterday
WU 5.55
E 6am
E 9am
S 10.20 (2h, I woke him)
E 13.30pm
S 15.30 (30m)
E 17.00
S 19.00 - OT crying an hour after going to sleep

I would be super grateful for thoughts... This forum has helped me so much in the past!
Thank you  :)

I would try cutting the first nap a bit as you say - otherwise you run out of time! Is his room nice and dark in the morning, no sounds waking him? Does he have any overnight feeds, could he be waking hungry?
