3 in a bed?
« on: July 05, 2015, 14:37:54 pm »
Will it work? They are 2,3 and 7.  ;D

I moved the double bed longways so they have more space and am going to try the 3 of them in it tonight.
Hope my 2 year old goes for it. She's co slept with me since she was a newborn. Maybe would she be better in a cot beside the other two's bed?

Any feedback/ tips appreciated x

So long as the double is wide enough that your 7 yo fits sideways I would totally go for it! My kids want to take over our king bed lol. Technically my almost 9 yo would fit sideways on a double with 3/4" to spare. Will they each have a separate blanket? If not I would be tempted to buy a queen or king size duvet and tuck it in so they all stay under the covers if they like it that way. And get a good waterproof mattress cover!

Thanks girls. Thanks for the tips. Only thing is if one child is sick they all have to sleep together and I'm unsure if its a good idea. Would the body heat be ok too...

Maybe you can set up a small mattress or camp bed for a poorly child? Unless poorly kids out number healthy kids in which case leave the poorlies in the bed and put the healthy on a temporary mattress to stay away form the germs!

Yes I agree with creations, just separate as needed if they are sick. Even just a mat on the floor. As for body heat, they may need a lighter blanket but otherwise should be fine - not sure where you are, but here in winter sleeping together is a great option, DD1 & 2 spent the winter DD3 was an infant sharing a double bed.

And she's out!! She ran to the door shouting for me twice and was panicking a bit. She's getting two new teeth at the moment maybe now is not a good time?

Also she feeds to sleep on me (bad habit I know) but wonder could I feed her to sleep in the girls room instead?

Are they her last molars? Idk waiting might just mean something else crops up to cause an issue! If you want to keep that prop then yes I would do it in the girls room...but this might be a good transition to get rid of it if you are wanting to.

They are her bottom canines. Then  she still has 4 more back molars to get. :'(

I'm ok with feeding her to sleep. It's my husband that would like me to stop as usually when I take her to bed I just stay in bed. Sad I know. Then he's left along watching tv for the night. Suppose I should be down with him.

Unless!!!!! I lower my bed (that she already sleeps in) and let her sleep away until she's ready to move out herself. ?? We don't mind her in the bed, its just dh wants me to go down and sit with him once she is asleep but I never did as my bed was too high off the floor.

What do I do,? Lol  ;)

Idk, for me co-sleeping was not an option past the first few weeks of constant night feeds as I am high sleep needs and don't sleep well with anyone in my space! I guess you and your DH need to come up with a solution that suits everyones needs (as much as that is possible anyways yk?).

Yeah maybe lower your bed if that's possible. And she can move into the communal-kids-bed when she's over the teething?
The kids all sleeping together sounds very snugly and comforting.

My sister's 3 oldest boys (currently 12, 10, and 8) will usually sleep in my oldest nephew's double bed during school vacations (my sister won't generally let it happen on school nights!) so I know it can work.  :)

Thanks ladies. The bed is lowered so that's good. I'm thinking a new plan.

Maybe I would be better off getting bunk beds for the smaller room? Put my older two in there. And maybe keep the big room as it is and let tow little ones share that?
