17 mth old NOT napping
« on: September 04, 2015, 23:04:08 pm »
After 16 mths of early waking, I finally got my DS into a lovely routine- waking at between 6-7am (huge improvement from 4.30-5.30) and napping at 12.30 for 1-1.5 hrs with BT at 7.00. DS followed this routine beautifully for 3 weeks- it was glorious but alas along came a cold and yet more teething. DS now has 2 molars and 2 canines en route. He won't settle for his nap (been on one nap since about 12 mths) sitting in his cot crying for 20-30 mins before I get him up. WI/WO, PU/PD, don't work with him he just gets more worked up when I leave the room. He has a couple of very short crying bursts (5-30 seconds) through the nights since the start of this but resettles himself each time. WU still around 6am. BT 6pm when he is shattered but he still really needs his nap. Have given paracetemol b4 naps but doesn't work as I don't believe it is necessarily always pain because the crying starts before I even leave the room. How can I get my DS napping again- he is only 17 mths so PLEASE don't tell me he is dropping his remaining nap!!

Hi Hun, I feel for you! My little one is doing exactly the same thing. In fact I could've written your post! I sitting here holding him for a nap as he's sick with croup right now! Good luck Hun I hope things improve for you. Just know you're not alone xx
