night waking-habit or hunger?
« on: July 23, 2015, 14:02:03 pm »
My 5 month old wakes up every night around 530am to feed. He's exclusively breastfed.
I read in the baby whisperer book that if lo wakes up at the same time every night, its habitual. If its at random times, then its probably hunger.

The thing is, he seems ravenous, and goes at the boob with gusto. After the feed, he goes back to sleep.
I am confused if he is truly hunger or if its habit.

The other thing is that he does not cluster feed nor dream feed, and only takes 4 feeds a day. ( 4hr schedule)
He goes to bed at 730pm (right after his feed) and wake up time is 730am. Which means its 10 hours till his 530am feed.

Advice please ladies =)

thanks!

Personally I would feed at that age - getting to 5.30 without a DF is really good at 5 months, and it sounds like it's genuine hunger from his behaviour.  Sounds like he's doing really well  :)
