Should I introduce a dream feed
« on: August 03, 2015, 21:50:05 pm »
Hi
Miss 4 months does quite well at night only waking to feed at 3.30
However this means she's not hungry on waking
Our schedule looks something like this
3:30 eat
6:30 wake eat
7:45 sleep usually 45 mins
10:30 ish eat
2 eat
5 eat
6 bedtime routine
6:45 eat
7 bed
Naps are rubbish from the get go. We were getting 2 hours ones
When she woke earlier in the night.
I have tried reducing the night feed to half but that still only gets a half feed in the morning
So should I try a dream feed? I don't want to ruin my night sleeps!

I think your naps will get a bit better if you increase her A time - am I right in reading she's getting 1:15 first A time - its usually more like 2hr at 4 months (provided she's not a premmie).

You could try leaving the morning feed til 7 and see if she's hungry after 3.5hr. Given you're tanking up, I can't see much value in the DF. You could give it a go but if you're the kind of person who'd have to stay up specifically to do the DF, I'd leave well enough alone wrt night feeds, TBH.

I will give the feed a go at 7 ish
It is a short awake time but she starts rubbing her eyes and looks tired. Maybe I could extend just a bit. To be honest she doesn't seem rested when she wakes. You would think after 11 hours she would be. Lol babies!

This could just be habit, in fact that's pretty likely - the 45min UT nap is another indication.
