Breakfast on the run?
« on: August 27, 2015, 09:09:41 am »
DD2 has never liked to eat straight after WU. She is quite happy to wait until 9ish to get her breakfast then she will eat it. However we need to drop her off at the CM at 8 and there is nothing to eat until 10 for snack. So I was thinking she might be more tempted by an on the go snack type of breakfast but I'm not sure what to try.

Any suggestions please?

I think it depends on what she likes to eat really but what about oaty chews, they're kind of like breakfast bars but if you make them yourself you can control what goes into them (ie no sugar).
Our food on the go was:
mini muffins
pancakes (small fat ones like Scotch pancakes but home made)
bean burger/fritters (or baked in a mini muffin tray to make small neat portion sizes)
French toast/eggy bread is another cleanish breakfasty type food
cold cheese on toast or just toast fingers?

My DD is the same, and TBH even on a school morning she has very little  :-\. She is older so her food probably is different anyway, but if she really won't have breakfast I often give her a banana or a brioche roll on the go.

When she was little even a few raisins would have been enough really though  ::).

Just make sure your CM is aware she will likely need a big snack  ;).
