So we have a similar situation, hoping to just hop on this thread. DD is 10 months old, too early to switch to the one nap I think. She's given us a good multi week stretch in months 7&8 of 11-12 hours straight at night. Never longer than 1h15m naps though and usually one good nap in the a.m. and the 30-45 minute afternoon nap.
All fine until she learnt to crawl at 9 months.... Hasn't stopped moving! :-)
She was happy and had some off naps and nights with two or three random wake ups. Fine with that, seemed like a developmental phase. Then she's started getting up earlier and earlier, not able to settle or be settled at all. Cry goes to scream at any attempt to comfort her and keep her still and dark. I thought night terrors even!
Ugh. She's miserable and OT to the max.
So now we're at:
4-5:45a.m. Wu
I keep it dark and calm as long as possible holding her if I can't get her back down.
6:30a.m. Nurse
7:30a.m. Breakfast, solids
9:30-10a.m. Nap (pray later and longer)
11:15a.m. Bottle
12:30 a.m. Lunch, solids, snacks with us out for lunch usually, our only outing for the day :-)
1:30-2p.m. Nap (pray longer but usually can't make it to 2& only 30-40 minutes)
Then we try to keep her going with breaks until 5p.m. Snack
5:30p.m. Dinner
6:15p.m. Bath
6:30-45, bottle/story/bed
We were at a 7-7 routine, but it's increasingly earlier and more tired.
She ends up napping when we nurse in the a.m. Is that what I need to stop and push gently that morning nap back out to 10a.m.?
I know it's a developmental physical phase but I'm afraid we're detailing the schedule and backtracking when the 2-1 transition is soon. I don't want to screw that up after all of the hard work to get to this point
