Something is wrong=EW!!
« on: September 13, 2015, 19:43:07 pm »
So I started with another post, but the thread became so long that they recommended I start a new post.

My DD is almost 8 months.  We're having some serious problems with EW.  It's almost every morning, no matter what we do.  it's very tough cause my husband leaves for work quite early and I run my own business.  So we're exhausted.

Here's her schedule.  Maybe I'm missing something.  I was told you push everything out a bit so we've done that, but maybe I'm missing something.

first bottle at 7:30 (5-6 ounces)
9:30-9:45 nap time
10:30-11 wake from nap
11:15-11:30 bottle (5-6 ounces)
1:30 solid food (3-4 cubes)
2:00-2:30 nap time
4-4:30 wake from nap
4:30 bottle (5-6 ounces)
6:00 solids (3-4 cubes)
6:30-7 bath time (we don't do a bath every night)
7:30-8 bed time

she usually wakes around 1-2 for a bottle and then wakes at 4:30-5:30 and it's nearly impossible to get her back to bed.  By the time we would get her back to bed it would be time for her morning bottle!

Any suggestions.

I forgot one thing in my routine that I just posted.

She also has a bottle at 7 of 5-6 ounces!

Looking forward to getting some suggestions.

Hi again hun. I don't remember whether I said this previously but I think the issue is that nap 1 is too early. 2 hours is very short and still you're getting a long nap. She seems to be making up for the missed night sleep here. I suggest slowly pushing this nap out till the A is at least the same as the next one, and then then possibly pushing them both out some more. If nap 1 keeps falling early due to EW, one strategy is to do a quick CN of 10ish minutes to pep her up, and then stick to a nap after a more suitable A. WDYT?

Here's our routine now.  She's still waking early, but not as early.  For the past week she has been impossible to get down at night and is also waking for a bottle during the night.

Wakes around 6:30-7
Bottle around 7:30
Nap around 10
Wake at 11
Bottle 11:15
Solids at 1
Nap around 2-2:15
Wake at 3:30-4
Bottle at 4:15
Solids at 6
Sometimes bath around 6:30-6:45
Bottle around 7
Bed time around 7:30

She doesn't always seem tired at bed time and has started to resist going down at night.  She just screams when she's put in her crib.  She used to put herself down, but now she screams and hates when we leave her room.  She goes down fine for her naps during the day.

If she wakes in the night she won't go back down without a bottle and she sucks that thing dry!!

Suggestions?

This is exactly what I am going through and I just post a new thread a few minutes ago. And we also have the same routine.

She's 9 months now.  She's been sleeping through the night for a week or so now, but it's still a struggle to get her down at night and now she's waking up at 6 or just before each morning.  She has also been waking up early from her afternoon nap for the past few days as well.  So she's napping only 2-3 or 3:30 instead of 4.

Any advice??  She's still waking up at 5:30 or 6 pretty much every day.  It's really tough and no matter what we do she still wakes early.  Please help.

DD will be 11 month next week. For the past 4 weeks, her routine has changed. She officially has only one nap now. Usually 10:30-12:30 and night sleep is from 7pm to 6:30am. EW is not a problem anymore. But we still have occitionally NW. Overall I feel the 9-10month sleep is not as good as 5-9mth.

How is your routine like recently?

I wonder if she is low sleep needs and moving into 2-1 territory?
I see the middle A is only 3hrs so maybe pushing that would help the second nap. I wonder if she has a short A there and then an UT second nap and then gets OT by BT because it is 4.5hrs after a short nap. Perhaps evening  those out a touch would help balance the day more.
