Tweak afternoon nap/EASY
« on: September 14, 2015, 17:30:51 pm »
Hello!

8.5 month DD first A time has been push out today to try to fix EW but now I don't know how short or long to make her afternoon nap time. Hubby wants to keep sleep time 7pm as much as possible. DD is used to two 1.5 hr naps. Is going from 1.5 hr nap to 1 hr nap too drastic for the first day of change?

Is this EASY ok if i do this today?

630am woke up
   3 hr 30 - 3 hr 45 min A time
10:15am nap for 1 hr 30
11:45am wake up
   3 hr 30 min A time
3:15pm nap for 1 hr
4:15pm wake up
6:45pm in bed
7:00-7:15pm falls asleep (think she can handle 3 hr A time before bed with 1 hr nap beforehand)

Thanks for any input!

Pls I need some feedback. I worry DD might be getting OT by drastically reducing her second nap :(

Has anyone done the same as me? Go from 1.5 hr nap to 1 hr  right away in order to increase A times? Thx!

Hi Honey! I think there is a little confusion as there are coupl threads opened by you and many people answer similar question. Would you consider choosing one thread and than we can cumulate our answers?

1.5 to 1h is a push but if she was UT, it might help. Just stick with it. Sometimes little tweaks are worse than one big push and it's like with this boiling frog...:) kiddos doesn't see a need to change a pattern of the changes are slow. And in this case you need your LO to make a change:)!

Thx Martini for your reply!

I didnt get a reply so i thought maybe my question is a completely new topic. Sorry! Sure, pls consolidate them. Which one is better to keep?

Ok...i will keep trying the 1hr afternoon nap. The day isnt long enough to keep two 1.5 hr naps unless i push out the entire day.

It's good to have one thread around one problem (even if this is complex) as who is commenting have the history:). We may lock other threads: just choose which you would like to keep and I will ask mods to close the others!

If you think your DD is tired you can go for 1:15 nap, but if after that she is refusing BT - I would keep 1h nap.

Thx for replying! Can we keep the other thread and but add your comments from this thread to the other one?

Sorry... i am a little confused about what you said if after 1 hr 15 nap she refuses BT then keep 7pm bedtime. Do you mean if she refuses bedtime then i should bring bedtime earlier to 7pm instead of 7:15pm?
