3 yr old DS melts down before naps and night sleep (this is new)

My 3 yr old DS has started full melt downs before his nap and at bedtime.  This is totally new for him.  I did the EASY training as a baby and he did beautifully.  He would go right down without a fuss.  Over the past few weeks, however, he has started screaming and going into a blind rage before his nap and his bedtime.  It is horrible.  I really don't know what to do.  We haven't changed his bed time routine, the only thing that has changed is him going to day care full time, but he's even melting down on the weekends where I know he isn't OT.  At night, I've tried making his bedtime earlier (7:00) thinking that he's just OT by 7:30, but that doesn't help either.

HELP!!

At 3yo do you think he ready to drop his nap?  Sounds like he could be UT.

I don't think so b/c he will still sleep 2-3 hours if I let him.  Once he's calm, he falls right to sleep and sleeps forever.  He does it for night time sleep sometimes as well, so that's why I don't think he's UT.

Hi, a lot of Los are starting to drop their nap by 3, if not already dropped them altogether. I would certainly take a look at how much sleep he is getting overall as I would have thought that the nap need to be cut now. That should make him more tired for BT and make it much easier x

The issue seems to be that he's OT.  He just drops on the floor out of exhaustion and just cries.  He just can't calm down.  EVERYTHING upsets him.  At home, he will still nap 2-3 hours but at daycare, he only gets about 45 min.  Either way, he's just crazy.

I just moved his bedtime back 30 min to an hour and it has stopped for bed time but he's still a bit crazy for nap.  Thanks!

still likely to be under tired for the nap hun. I really would be looking to cut that down rather than the night sleep YK. xx
