4.5 month old - trying to wean paci
« on: October 26, 2015, 23:58:27 pm »
I have a 4.5 month old that I am trying to wean her off the paci. We also just started a EASY routine. I am weaning because it is a prop. My question is I have been sleep training with pu/pd since last wednesday and she still has a hard time going to bed without it. Does it get better or should I give it to her to comfort and then take it away?

Personally, I don't have a problem with a paci.  Some babies find their thumbs and we don't take those away!  :o  If it's not causing her any issues, I'd suggest just letting her having it.  A friend of mine, who is incredibly regimented with her children, let's them have a dummy until they're  3 and then the Dummy Fairy comes and takes them all away and voila, it's done.
