How do I drop the dream feed if breast feeding???
« on: November 05, 2015, 04:08:46 am »
Hi there,

My LO is nearly 8 months old. I think it's time to stop the dream feed. In the book, it doesn't really outline how to do this when you are breast feeding, but focuses on how to do it if you are formula feeding.

My LO's routine is as follows:

6am - Wake and BF
7am - solids
8:15 - nap
10am - BF
12:30 - nap
3:30 - catnap
4pm - solids
6pm - BF
11pm - Dreamfeed (6 oz pumped breast milk in bottle)

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Thanks,
P

Since that feed is from a bottle you could gradually reduce the oz each night until gone. Does your lo stir at all or wake around that time? The other option would be cold turkey and see what happens. Are there any other nw/nf?

Thanks for your response. I am looking for a new schedule to fit in three solids per day. Not sure how to go about doing that, and drop the dream feed. I was thinking if I increased her solid intake and maybe gave her a top up right before bedtime, that might help?

Is there a sample plan anywhere?
