10m old night waking, please help!
« on: November 12, 2015, 22:10:52 pm »
My girl is 10m2d and has just started waking at 2:00am for 3 days in arrow and she falls back to sleep after 1.5 hours. Other than that, she is a good sleeper in overall, nap 9am-11am and 3pm-4pm and sleep 9:00pm - 6:00am. I put her bed on floor next to mine. She has a habit of pulling my hair whenever she drinks milk and falls to sleep and she keeps doing that for the whole 1.5 hours when she's awake >"<. I think this may be one of the reasons but do not know how to end it. If I do not let her touch my hair, she'll sit up and reach for it. She would take my hands for a little while instead but still end up asking for my hair. Other than this habit, I don't know whether she wakes up because she's hungry? I put her on solid since she's 6m and now she joins us lunch and dinner but she does not eat much. In addition to solid, she takes 25oz. What should I do?

I would probably suggest you push her A time a bit, see if you can keep her up for 3.25-3.5 hrs and see if that helps.  At this age, babies are staying awake anywhere between 3-4hrs.  If you tweak her routine, that may eliminate the NW's all together.
Regarding playing with your hair, I'm not sure how to help as I have no experience with co-sleeping.  Could you give her a lovey instead, and tie your hair back in a braid?  Clearly she finds it comforting but I doubt you can sleep with little hands constantly touching your hair.

Thank you Laura!
For 2 days, I have tried to give her a lovey (luckily that recently she's interested in one) and it takes 45m with constant PU/PD, she falls in sleep. Last night, she cried 3 times but kept sleeping right after I put a pacifier back. Maybe it gets better because I moved our bed to another room too. I'm still with her but my husband is not. He tends to be awake when she wakes up and she's a sensitive type who are affected even by small noise when my husband changes his position in bed >"<.
