Nap refusal at 2?
« on: November 18, 2015, 15:14:32 pm »
Hi
I need some help please. Because of my older 3 being collected from school etc my 2ywar old HAS to nap from 3pm until 3.30.

She wakes at 8.20am
Nap 3.00
Wake 3.30
Bed at 8.30pm

This past few days she's not turned enough for her 3pm nap?

Can anyone help please? Maybe I should wake her earlier in the morning?

I'm guessing she's fairly low sleep needs if she's only had 30 min nap before refusing the nap?

If she's had no nap does she cope ok and sleep through at night still?

Thanks for your reply. I managed to get her to sleep at 3.20 and then woke her at 3.45. It's now 9.04pm and she's in bed but not asleep!

Yes she's probably low sleep needs. Yes she's ok if she misses a nap but I would imagine a few days in a row she might not be the same.
Hard to know what to do. Should I wake her at 8am tomorrow then try 3pm nap again and 8.30 bed?

You could try that or if nap doesn't happen just go for a short day and EBT.

My dd was the same and at that same age that started happening and i was so sad...we ended up doing g a few days, maybe 2 or 3 with no nap and just early bedtimes and then she would have a nap day. She couldn't go more than a few days without one. She's 4.t and hasn't napped in probably 2 years but my friends 4 and 5 yr old still nap and go to bed at 7. Dd is in bed at 730 most nights and up at 630 or 7 am
