4 month old screams before naps out of cot

My son is 18 weeks old and has started to scream hysterically before day naps. He is bottlefed 4 hourly and has a bit of fruit puree in the morning and afternoon (he was starving). He stays awake for around 2 hours each activity time and then will fall asleep beautifully in his cot. I basically put him in it & give him his teddy and dummy and boom gone. Try the same thing in his car seat/ couch and he screams. I used to be able to soothe him to sleep in my arms but even this now takes ages and I get pinched a lot. Any ideas?

Sorry you were missed - lots of us were away for the holidays.

Do you think he just needs to stay awake a touch longer? Anytime mine started getting ridiculous before nap time it was because they were not quite tired enough. If you think that's the case, I would try pushing his A time by 15 minutes and see what happens.
