After breaking the milk at night habit, HELP
« on: February 09, 2016, 20:41:21 pm »
Thanks everyone!I just did a weekend to break the breast feeding at night habit and she did alright during the few nights, and I was feeling positive about it all, her sleeping from 730 to 4 by the third night without a wake up, and the wake ups got shorter and shorter.  Then, two nights ago, she got horribly worse! Not for milk, but just waking up way more.  Sunday night, (the forth night)---
(I got help for the previous weekend on a different post)

Sunday night
700 asleep
830-930- restless, calling out and needed me to fully hold her till she was asleep
3am-5am awake.  just before 5 i gave her pain medication, just in case that was it.  She screamed, woke her sister up,(same room, but usually she sleeps through) and asked to go out of the room to the living room
5-7 slept.

Monday
7am breastfed
1045- looks exhausted so I put her down early (usually nap time is 1130 or 12)
115 woke up and went to grandmas, they went to the park and tired her out!:)

700 asleep
1130-215 awake- gave her pain meds earlier but nothing changed. sometimes she acts like her mouth hurts, hands in mouth, crying hard, biting her hands, and then is fine in 10 minutes. but awake for a long time still

Tuesday
7 awake and very hungry for Breast milk
1145 down for nap (i had a nap and so i didn't see her tired face at 1030, and then she was fine, then tired again at 1145)
Not done the rest of Tuesday

PLEASE HELP.  Why is she having these super long wake ups? over tired? Under tired? How do i just get her to stop.  I'm going crazy.

Refresh my.memory...how old is she now? I wonder if the nap being earlier is leading to a sort of ut/ot loop?

Thanks for replying. That what I figured so I had her go to sleep for nap at the usual time. She just seems to be doing everything to be overtired. Staying up at night, or waking early. I don't know how to change this track. She is 15 almost 16 months. She's exhausted, and I am. She has never been a good sleeper. She has to learn!!

Do you think it is a matter of her being used to feeding to sleep and now she just cannot transition? How are you trying to resettle at night?
