2 months of yucky poos
« on: February 16, 2016, 19:12:18 pm »
Hi

Our DS was diagnosed with CMPI when he was 6 months old. He's now 20mo and we're still avoiding cows milk but were hoping we could start introducing it slowly fairly soon. We've been under a paediatrician who reassured us that DS is more than likely to grow out of it by the time he's 3. We decided not to continue with the paediatrician as ds was fine and we knew how to introduce cows milk slowly. There wasn't anything more the paediatrician could do.

But for the last 2 months hes been having very loose stools (Bristol stool chart 6 or 7) and today I had a good look and there's mucous in there too  :(  he's also getting bad nappy rash which is upsetting him. He is or he used to be fine with soya so he has a mixture of soya and oat milk and soya yoghurts. I'm now thinking we may have a soya intolerance as the proteins are very similar? I'm not sure what else could be wrong.

We have seen the gp who sent off a stool sample which came back normal but I have asked to be re-referred to the paediatrician again as it's not getting any better. We have tried probiotics and made sure they are dairy free but it hasn't helped. Now waiting to see the gp on the 26th to be re-referred again.

He has done 3 very loose poos today and his bottom is sore :(
he is ok in himself but he's not 100%. Do you think we should try cutting soya out of his diet?

Yeah it is a pain but if it helps then of course we'll do it. So expensive though!
