10 Month Old 6 or so Hours of Sleep

My son wakes up at 7, takes a nap at 10 & 2 for about an hour each, & we try to get him to go to bed at 7. He fights us to go to bed & then when we do finally get him to sleep he wakes up after 45 minutes & then he's up until 11 or midnight. Then after we get him back to sleep, he has multiple night wakings. So he's only getting about 6 hours of night time sleep. Help!!!

It sounds like he may be overtired and having difficulty settling into a deep, restful sleep. Has he ever napped for longer than an hour? If yes, we can try to get him napping longer. If not, we can find other solutions. Often fixing the day sleep can improve night sleep. If he won't give you longer naps, you could try adding in a third nap of 30-45 minutes around 5 or bring bedtime quite a bit earlier (possibly 6).

How does he wake from naps? What is his mood like during the day? What do you do to settle him when he wakes at night?

He sometimes naps for longer than an hour, but rarely.

He wakes up from naps, stands up, & cries for me to come get him. He cries whether he sleeps 45 minutes or an hour & a half.

His mood is great. He is a happy & smiley baby.

I either nurse him or my husband bounces/rocks him back to sleep during the night.

i would certainly try and earlier BT. How does he go down for naps? As he is 10 months old you may be approaching dropping to 1 nap soon anyway (well next few months). Is he generally a low sleep needs baby?
